When it comes to media players, the best choice you can make is a player that allows you to organize your media files, besides playing them. This is what you can do with Moovida, but there are other advantages that you should know about. The software can sort your media files automatically by albums and other criteria and it allows you to create your own smart lists as well. It supports any video and audio format out there, but the best part is that you may also control Moovida from your TV.

Another advantage is the fact that Moovida is freeware. It works on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and it takes about a minute to install. The software's system requirements are not as modest as those of other media players, but a modern day computer with at least 1 GB of RAM and a 2GHz Core 2 Due processor should be sufficient.

You can either import music and videos to Moovida's media library or you can select default music and videos folders in different Preferences panels. Videos and audio tracks are organized in separate sections, which you can access via navigation tabs, located on the left side of the interface. The software will use their metadata to categorize them by genre, artist, album and so on. Additionally, you may create your own smart lists to sort your files by other criteria.

Like other advanced media players, Moovida gives you the possibility of viewing and editing tag information for individual media files, download cover arts for your albums and so on. A clear advantage over other media players is the fact that Moovida can be adapted to a TV or other devices. Besides the core interface, the software provides a neat 3D interface, which can be controlled on a TV, with a remote control. If you connect your TV to your computer with a HDMI, VGA or an S-Video cable, you just need to click the "3D Immersed" option located in the upper right corner of the window and the 3D interface will launch.

While using the 3D interface, you can find your movies, TV series and other videos, in different categories. Videos and movies are displayed as thumbnails and when you select one, a series of information about the movie will appear on the screen. You can access a general settings menu, which contains a list of controls for both the keyboard and the TV's remote and options for changing the interface's background and smoothing level. Additionally, you can access a weather forecast section, which displays a scenery in full screen mode.

Pros

Moovida provides many advantages. It supports any video and audio format, it organizes your media files automatically and it allows you to create your own smart lists. The best part is that it provides a beautiful 3D interface, which can be controlled on a TV, with a remote control. Moovida is absolutely free.

Cons

When installing Moovida, the setup wizard will recommend a large number of toolbars and settings for your default web browser. There is no reason why you should not try Moovida. Besides organizing your media files, it will change the way you watch movies on your TV.
